The river has borne the name “Huong” (Perfume) for over a century. This is mainly because flowers from upstream orchards dropping into the water during the autumn has created a strong floral sense for the river.
These days, it might not have a fragrant smell like before because of modernization as well as the growing number of riverboats. However, it’s still a prominent landmark that is worth a visit to Hue.
